Before opening the Law Office of Arthur J. Inman, I was an Assistant State’s Attorney in the counties of Vermilion, Sangamon, and Peoria for nearly eight years. During this time, I learned how to try cases, as well as what to consider in deciding whether to prosecute. I use this prosecutorial background to analyze and prepare your defense. My professional associations include the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Peoria County Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. Within the Illinois State Bar Association, I am a member of the Criminal Justice Section and the Human Rights Section. I have been recognized for my exemplary work in criminal defense by being selected by my fellow members to serve as chair of the Criminal Justice Section Council once and chair of the Human Rights Section Council twice. In addition to my professional memberships, I have also served as an instructor in trial technique and tactics for a program co-sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Illinois State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. Here, I was present to provide a defense perspective on prosecutor’s instructions and served in this program from 1978 to 1994.
